Who are we?
Welcome to Aussie Touring! We are Zac and Rhiannon, a fun-loving , adventurous couple from Townsville, QLD. We are both in our early 20's and want to see as much of our beautiful country as we can.
Zac has called Townsville home for just over 21 years. He has travelled to 7 different countries, and has 4-wheel drived and camped along the entirety of the east coast of Australia. Rhiannon spent most of her life growing up in the small town of Dysart QLD, only calling Townsville home for the last 5 years. Growing up she spent most of her time exploring western QLD, but has also spent a lot of time along the QLD coast.
Zac currently works a FIFO job as an operator for a mine in western QLD, and Rhiannon is currently studying to become a Geo-scientist at University. One day we both hope to be on the road full time, visiting every hidden gem, and 'locals only' fishing spot along the way!
Our Plans
As we mentioned, Zac currently works full-time and Rhiannon is studying full-time. Unfortunately, this means we can't begin full-time travel just yet. However, with Zac's FIFO roster and breaks in Rhiannon's studies, this means we still have plenty of opportunity to get away and experience the wonderful landscape this country has to offer.
We want to bring you along as we camp and fish our way around the country during our breaks. We want to inspire you to adventure and take the road less travelled with us, in an effort to find some of Australia's best hidden gems! We will be writing a comprehensive blog post on each and every campsite we visit, giving you an insight into our lifestyle and the best places to pull up and set up camp.
As we travel along in our 1996 Toyota HZJ80, we are committed to giving unbiased and factual reviews on the products and equipment we use to get to some of Australia's remote locations. We hope that the information that we can provide to our readers proves invaluable in finding their next destination, equipment and adventure!
